The music industry has radically changed. ?

There are new tools for marketing, distributing, discussing, recording, and selling music. Social media outlets such as Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Linkedin, YouTube, and MySpace are now the center of the music industry. Music-related professionals need a comprehensive understanding of how these portals function and how to use them in an effective way. The new music industry model has also changed the nature of contracts and intellectual property. What are the new legal considerations as they apply to digital downloads, sampling, mashups, and the like?

The Institute is a six-week program that includes: Music and Social Media, The Art of the Music Producer, Entrepreneurship for Musicians, Legal Issues of the New Millenium, Audio Production for Song Writers, and Arranging for Songwriters. ?Participants may register as many courses as they please. ?A certificate is awarded for participants completing all six weeks.
