Dinner and bubble tea at Tri-ty Caf? in Richmond on August 17, 2012.

Tri-ty Cafe | Richmond, BC

I've been on a beef noodle and bubble tea spree as of late. However, I hadn't returned to my de facto Taiwanese cafe of Tri-ty in a while. I basically always get the same things?and this time was no different.

I needed to cool off from the heatwave outside and ordered a mango ice cream slush. I always love the scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. It makes everything better. Janice?got a half-sweetened jasmine milk tea with pearls. It was a little too frothy and bland for my taste.

I forgot how much I loved the house special spicy beef noodles here (much better than Zephyr and up there with Tony's). The soup was flavourful and mighty tasty with the right amount of spice. I drank it all up despite the heat outside. Surprisingly good.

I was, however, very?disappointed?by other staple of tomato fried rice wrapped in an egg with a fried chicken cutlet. The chicken was good but the rice was day old and clumpy. I've ordered this a bunch of times and this is the only time its been so under par.

Despite the rice setback, I still think Tri-ty is always a solid pick for Taiwanese food and drink. I love their selection of ice cold slushes and ice cream drinks. Make sure to do yourself a favour and get the house special spicy beef noodles.
